The original “Rosie I” was rescued in 1999.
Kathy, Activities Director at Havenwood Care Center, saw something special in Rosie and trained her as a therapy dog. She made her new home in the retirement community in Bemidji. Rosie died in 2013 at the ripe old age of 15.

Rosie II was rescued in March 2005, and Red Lake Rosie’s Rescue, named after these two wonderful dogs, became a reality shortly thereafter. Rosie II lived with Karen in her home until she passed away in 2008.
