Become an ambassador for the homeless animals by volunteering with Red Lake Rosie’s Rescue. This is the perfect opportunity if you’re compassionate about helping animals and animal welfare.
We welcome volunteers to help with feeding and playing with the animals at the shelter, laundering animal bedding, washing animal dishes, and cleaning the shelter.
In the fall, we need help winterizing kennels with tarps, moving straw bedding into dog houses, and cleaning and repairing the shelter and kennels. In the spring, the tarps on the kennels need to be removed.
It’s about a five-hour drive from the Twin Cities to the shelter. There is a separate bedroom and bathroom for volunteers located in the building where the cats and young puppies are kept. There are also low cost hotel rooms nearby.
We also need volunteers to help at our spay/neuter, vaccination and wellness clinics from April through October. Please check out the Clinics page for more information.
