Clinics

The mission of Red Lake Rosie’s Rescue is to reduce the overpopulation, homelessness, disease, and malnutrition of companion animals on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in northern Minnesota.

It is our belief that investing in our animals helps with community commitment and strengthens our bonds with each other and with our companion animals.

According to tradition, the Anishinabe, also known as Ojibwe, had a very special connection to maheegun – the wolf.  The Anishinabe were always to regard the descendant of the wolf, animoosh – dog – as a friend.  Red Lake Rosie’s Rescue reminds the Anishinabe to keep their covenant with maheegun.  Traditional Anishinabe respect all living things including animoosh.

We provide community medical clinics and work with Cornerstone Veterinary Services to reduce overpopulation and to deliver other needed medical care.  We are first come, first serve during clinics and only provide these services for the Red Lake residents.
